As I begun the design process of my website i went through 3 website templates that I thought would be suitable for kids in primary school, as that’s who my site was going to be for. I decided to stick with a simple, modern and colourful website that would keep the children occupied and not get bored.

The colours I stuck to throughout the website were red, orange, black and white as they all match well and are not just a boy or girl colour but a colour all kids can be attracted too. I decided to not play with a lot of colour in the logo as I didn’t want it to clash with any colours on other pages throughout the website so I decided to use a fancier font, I used 2 different fonts to create the logo but kept in mind that it needed to be readable. I also decided to throw in some colour on each page with a red font and black font for dot points as kids would be more interested that way instead of reading plain black and white text.

The format of the website is simple but will still keep you interested, especially if you’re a kid. The tools are all displayed in their own tab at the very top of the website and when you click on one of the tabs a description, link and rating appears. I used screenshot image of the tools to show a sample of what the viewer was to expect instead of wasting their time clicking through links just to see what tool looked the best. I used simple language that can easily be read by parents and their child.

My site will appeal to children in primary school as its colourful, looks friendly and fun, simple and easy. The tools I have chosen are aimed more towards a younger crowd as well as most of the tool are decorated with animations and audio which is clearly more for the younger crowd.
